Glazing the bottle vases

A full shelf of bottle vases came out of the glaze firing this week, in three greens and a blue-grey.

Rows of green and blue-grey glazed bottle vases in different sizes

A full shelf of bottle vases came out of the glaze firing this week. Each one was thrown in a single piece, trimmed the next morning and left to dry slowly under plastic for a week before the first firing.

Why the colours vary

The same glaze looks greener on a thick wall and greyer where it runs thin at the shoulder. We sort the finished vases by colour, but no two are identical, and the photographs on each product page show the batch you will receive.

  • Small vases are about 14 cm tall, large ones about 24 cm.
  • Every vase is glazed inside and holds water.
  • Made to order: allow six to eight weeks.
